This is such a lovely idea. The Affordable Art Fair Battersea will take place from October 20-23 and will include 110 galleries bringing 1000 artists together to sell art that is priced between £100 and £5,000. The art collection ranges from the contemporary to the antique and it includes paintings, prints, photography, sculpture and more.
They are also having a free educational program for kids (and adults) and workshops where you can work on your own artistic skills.
It all started in 1996 when Will Ramsay opened Will’s Art Warehouse in southwest London to bride the divide between those who are interested in art and those who are selling it at exorbitant prices. The gallery was able to offer works for £50 – £2,500 from 150 less-known artists. Three years later, he started the Affordable Art Fair. The fair launched in Battersea Park in October of 1999 and it has become a global attraction. So much so that the Affordable Art Fair also takes place in Amsterdam, Brussels, New York, Milan, Singapore, Hamburg, Seoul, Stockholm and Hong Kong. Over 1.9 million people have visited an Affordable Art Fair and have bought over £265 million worth of art.
