The Affordable Art Fair started in 1999 when Will Ramsay wanted to bring art to the people without a huge price tag. At Will’s Art Warehouse in southwest London, he started bringing in unknown artists so that he could offer works from $100 to $5000.
The first fair launched in Battersea Park in October of 1999 and 10,000 people too advantage of buying affordable art. Now, the Affordable Art Fair takes place in cities around the world and over 1.4 million people have visited a Fair of this sort and purchased a whopping $339 million worth of art.
For those in New York, the Affordable Art Fair will be coming to The Tunnel from September 25-29, 2014. The fair will include 50 local and international galleries with amazing programs and buying opportunities.
